Understanding bat protection.

Bats are beneficial to the environment, serving as natural predators to crop-destroying pests and mosquitoes. Because of this and recent illnesses that have decreased bat populations, many bat species are protected under federal, state, and local laws. This means that any effort to remove or exclude them must be handled with caution, and often within certain months of the year, to avoid fines or penalties and remain in compliance with laws or regulations.

Potential signs of bat activity.

Signs of bat activity in a business may not be immediately noticeable, since bats are nocturnal animals. However, these issues may indicate that bats have invaded your facility and it is best to call a professional right away.

Areas bats commonly invade.

Bats can gain access to your business through cracks smaller than the width of a pencil. They prefer roosting in undisturbed spaces, so they may be commonly found in areas such as these.
